Thirty Six Chapters of Fallout Equestria Later

It's probably the most graphically explicit violence I've ever read in any book. It's also probably the longest I've ever read into any one series. Even with Harry Potter, I dropped off somewhere in the fourth or fifth volume. Admittedly, I unsure how much that matches up in a wordcount/pagecount fashion. I used two different 'audio-books' on Youtube to get up first to 22, then to 30. From there, I've been sending off text-file downloads of the story to Zamzar for a very broken and hard-to-understand but quick-to-get-to text-to-speech MP3 reading.  I'm fairly sure I've been reading/listening longer than any RPG I've played before, anyway. (For narrative. I have +200 hours logged in Disgaea 3, but less than half of that was from the main story. Lots and lots of levelgrinding mages and Nekomatas.) Anyway, I've been enjoying Fallout: Equestria, and I'm almost a little bit sad I'll be done reading it soon.

Oh, also I drew some stuff. I haven't tagged it or anything, but I figured I should at least mention them. At least one of which I may return to and polish up in the future.

Edit: Thirty Eight Chapters Later... (They do know Hydrogen and Helium aren't the same, right? Or maybe they were referring to the flying balloons rather than the decoration?)

Draw All the Things!

I've felt better. Dizziness spells are not fun. HAVE SOME PICTURES!
In the past two weeks, we've gone from ID 2745 to ID 2770

I forgot to make the background something other than alpha. But I really like how Kim looks.

Lotsa doodling with no particular goal. I really dig the right half of the page.

I have some toys that I was gifted, and others that I'd like to see. So I drew them.

One of my course lectures got really boring. This little 'on popped onto the page. I like it.

Another byproduct of a very boring lecture. Kinda reminds me of Sylvia and Silvini a bit.

I couldn't decide if I wanted to draw a pony in a bikini or a pony with balloons, so I crammed it all together into one haphazard quickdoodle to test a new uploader account for Windstone. Uploading worked perfectly fine.

Itty Bitty Realization

It's much easier to skip over parts of a book you're not liking than it is to skip over parts of an audio-book you're not liking.

Oh, also, I've started reading summaries of Fallout Equestria. If I'm not sick of it by the time I finish that, I'll probably try reading the darn thing. Maybe getting the ebook.

Conclusion: It took me an hour to finish reading the summary. It seems like a good adventure overall, but definitely not something I'd want to get into as leisure readin primarily because of its nature as a crossover removing all of the aspects I find ideal from one of its source materials. (Seriously, an elevator? If Applebuck Season is any indication, that shouldn't work.) Though there's mention of a version that's foal-appropriate. Is that an actual thing that exists and can be read, or is that just a fictional idea?

Switch to New Version?

Trying out the new Livestream editor thingy.

As far as Windstone, we're now up to ID 2744.
My favorites from these past two weeks are:

I owe credit to Not-Fun for this one. They did an ubercute illustration in ink, which I dropkicked with some color using MyPaint on my EP121. The sketch reminded me of Ribbons who I hadn't drawn frequently as of recent, so most of my colors drew from older pics of that character.

Petirep's birthday rolled by! I wanted to do something to help them have a cheery day, but I wasn't sure what they'd like. So I drew them an Apple Bloom! She's such a fun pony. Though my intent was to draw AB and Petirep playing catch. I wasn't pleased with the result.

Doodlydoo Hello There

College classes can be frustrating sometimes. But for the most part, I like my classes this term. If my GPA was determined by how interested I was in my classes, I'd probably have much better grades right now.

Unrelated to that, I may occasionally stream my doodling. Still working on getting a comfortable process for drawing with my new gear, but it seems I still have a bit of experimenting ahead of me before that's the case.

Not a whole lot that I'm too thrilled to share this week, but there's a few things that I like.

Drawing Overflow - Lazy Way Out

I don't really have any explaination for how I fell so far behind all over again in the past few weeks. Since the last update, we've submitted posts in the range 2646 to 2688. I'll add thumbnails for a few of my favorites below.
Personal Highlight(s):

The main reason for the inclusin of the first image is that I like how the dragony-critter came out. The felinesque critter and the one on the right are nice and shiny, just like I like. All of these were drawn with an Asus EP121, which I just about about a week or two ago. Still trying to learn how to use the thing. For my particular case, this ended up being a more attractive option than buying a Wacom Cintiq, as none of the computers in this house are particularlly powerful. So having a separate dedicated device for handling the drawing is a lot more useful than having a huge extra input device taking up most of my desk space away when I need it to do classwork and whatnot. Another bonus is that I can take the EP121 with me on the go when I want to have it around for quicksketching.

(On a related note, I'm planning on opening up for commissions again. But it'll be sort of a different approach this time. We'll see.)

I had a particularlly good month in terms of pencil drawings. Just so much good stuff kept popping out one after the other with minimal effort. Made me pretty happy. The last pic with the color was an early attempt to use my EP121 to color the pencil sketch over using the current version of MyPaint. It went well enough, though the sections where I got too lazy to recolor pencil lines stand out against the balloon and dress in a way that's not very pleasant looking. Overall though, I think this is pretty good. The pic of Jewels the bunny in her skirtdressthingy on the upper layer is really fun to took at. <3

One Cool Thing: Ancient DOS Games hits Episode 100! They cover the game Bubble Bobble, with a reasonable discussion of a lot of different versions of the game and some mention of Bubble Bobble sequels. There's a few funny live-action segments in there as well. This also marks the end of ADG Season 2, so there's going to be a bit of a break, a filler episode, and then more time for another break. So there won't be any new ADG episodes for a while. PEOPLE SIZED BUBBLES!

Too Much Drawing - Lazy Way Out

Long story short, my net was shut off last Saturday morning (the net connection was restored Thursday mid-day), so I didn't get to post the art I had uploaded then. You can find them in the post range 2599 to 2608.
Personal Highlight(s):

n the time since then, I did a bunch more drawings to pass the time between classes. You can find those in the poast range 2610 to 2645.

One Cool Thing: Bastion's Open Source branch for MonoGame - This may prove useful if you're familiar with Microsoft's XNA and want to deploy on multiple platforms. (Hey, Re-Logic, you might want to take a poke at that. Please.)

Everything I thought I drew this week, I drew last week. Except for a handful of doodles I don't really want to go out of my way to scan and post. So have some neat things that I didn't make instead!
Heaven Variant!

This game appears to be a somewhat Einhander-inspired scrolling shooter game. I'm pretty excited about it. Everything they've shown of the game so far seems to glow and pulse with energy.

Rainbow Dash Presents: Haunting Nightmare the Commentary Track

I'm not going to lie, the commentary track of this particular RDP story is more entertaining to view than the video itself. Kind of a critical look-over what they've created.

Awesomenauts for PC is now out on Steam! Think Super Smash Bros. + League of Legends + 90s cartoons, and you've probably got a ballpark of what this is like.

The Jester hero DLC for Dungeon Defenders is out now. It includes a new level, a new hero, a costume for the hero, and a few new weapons. It's going to stay free for about a week and two days from this post, so if you own Dungeon Defenders at all, you should pick up the DLC now for free, so that you can keep it for free forever. After the time is up, the DLC price will be set at roughly $5 USD.

They're a fun class. They have HP scaling close to the Squire, damage scaling close to the Monk, a skill-based roulette wheel that can do anything from player buffs, to insta-wiping ogres off the map... to turning enemies gold and giving them extra strength. They also use presents for towers which can give very low-DU defenses if you're lucky. Key word is lucky, as the presents spawns are randomized, and can be anything from mana, to equipment, to towers, to ogres. Without much time spent with them to learn their strengths and weaknesses, they make solid DPS/support characters.

Amulets and Armor is a somewhat actiony DOS RPG type of game that I've never heard of. And then Ancient DOS Games covered it. BEHOLD.
